Are you too sensitive?

Have you ever been told you're too sensitive?

When you’re sensitive, you pick up on things others might miss. The subtle changes in someone’s tone, the energy in a room, the beauty in the little details. When the world is offering up joy or connection, we feel it deeply and it’s wonderful.

But there’s a flip side too. When something negative happens, when someone says something hurtful or dismissive, we feel that deeply as well. We might want to block it out, push it down, pretend it didn’t affect us… but it lingers. Sensitivity means we carry things, sometimes long after they’ve passed.

             So What

             Can

             We Do?

For me, the answer is this: feel into the pain, honour it, and then consciously choose to let it go. It’s a practice. Not something that happens overnight, but something we return to again and again. Over time, the energy starts to shift. It softens.

Many of us have learned to put up walls to protect ourselves. But those walls don’t really stop the hurt. Instead, they limit our freedom. They disconnect us from others, block our natural flow, and leave us feeling confused or out of alignment.

It’s also helpful to remember that sometimes, it’s not even about us. Often, it’s their pain being projected onto us. Can you see that? Can you hold compassion for them, even just a little? Can you recognise their struggle?

In Buddhist teachings, there’s a practice called Metta, which means loving kindness. When I feel stuck, I send loving kindness to the person or the situation. I imagine that energy going out, softening what felt heavy or stuck.

And if you’re finding it difficult to move through it, you're not alone. Sometimes old energy gets lodged deep, especially if it comes from early life experiences. If that feels familiar, come and see me. We can work together to gently clear what’s no longer serving you and create space for something lighter to come in.
Discover Alternatives to Reiki for Healing in Brisbane

Explore Holistic Healing Beyond Reiki in Brisbane

Reiki, established by Mikao Usui in Japan during the 1920s, is a widely recognised energy-healing practice. It involves identifying and clearing energy blockages by channelling universal energy, promoting balance and harmony in the body and mind. While not formally acknowledged by Western medicine, many have found Reiki helpful for improving their overall well-being.

If you’re searching for alternatives to Reiki in Brisbane, there are several powerful energy-healing modalities to explore. Each offers unique approaches to addressing energy imbalances and supporting emotional and physical health:

           1. Havening Techniques

Havening is an innovative technique designed to release emotional connections to traumatic memories stored in the brain’s amygdala. Through gentle touch and specific protocols, it helps soothe the nervous system, reduce stress, and promote emotional resilience. Havening is particularly effective for letting go of past experiences that continue to impact your well-being.

           2. Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE)

TRE is a simple yet effective set of exercises that activate the body’s natural tremoring mechanism to release tension, stress, and trauma. This process, used by mammals in nature, is a safe way to downregulate the nervous system and restore a sense of calm. Many people find that TRE helps them move from feeling overwhelmed to experiencing balance and control in their lives.

           3. Kinesiology

Kinesiology is a holistic modality that uses muscle testing to access the subconscious mind, uncovering hidden causes of emotional, physical, or energetic blockages. By addressing these underlying issues, kinesiology helps to align the conscious and subconscious mind, facilitating deep and lasting healing.

           4. Other Energy-Healing Modalities

In addition to these techniques, there are other energy-based approaches that focus on releasing stuck energy and enhancing overall well-being. These modalities are tailored to meet individual needs, addressing a range of challenges to help you achieve balance and harmony.

If you’re exploring energy-healing options in Brisbane, these modalities provide alternative paths to wellness, each with its own unique benefits. Whether you’re seeking relief from stress, resolving trauma, or simply aiming to feel more balanced, these approaches can support you on your journey.

If any of these resonate with you, I’d love to help you work towards a more balanced, calm, and fulfilling life experience. Let’s take the first step together.

What is Havening?

         What is Havening?

Havening is a science-backed somatic process that addresses trauma embedded in our nervous system. These deeply ingrained experiences often manifest as stress and difficulties in our daily lives. Havening can help not only to resolve past traumas but also to manage challenging events as they arise in the present. Furthermore, it can positively influence our future by reinforcing affirmations aligned with the life we desire or the person we aspire to be.

Developed by Dr Ron Ruden, Havening is the product of years of research into the connection between the brain and body in healing trauma. Dr Ruden was inspired by energy healers who achieved significant results despite lacking scientific explanation. He embarked on neurological research to uncover how somatic techniques—methods involving the body—could facilitate healing from trauma.

His findings revealed a process that effectively clears the emotional charge of traumatic memories stored in the amygdala, the part of the brain responsible for processing fear, anger, and other emotions. After a Havening session, individuals typically still remember the traumatic event, but the associated emotions—fear, anger, or shame—are neutralised. This allows people to move forward without the weight of these unresolved feelings affecting their current lives.

           The Science Behind Havening

Havening works by leveraging the brain’s neuroplasticity, or its ability to rewire itself based on new experiences and stimuli. When a traumatic event occurs, the amygdala encodes emotional and sensory details, often attaching intense feelings to the memory. These feelings can resurface when triggered, creating stress and impeding daily life.

The Havening process uses gentle touch combined with focused attention to signal safety to the brain. This disrupts the link between the traumatic memory and its emotional response, effectively "deactivating" the amygdala's reaction. As a result, individuals experience relief from the emotional pain tied to past events.

Havening has been validated through thousands of case studies, demonstrating its effectiveness in addressing traumatic memories, reducing anxiety, and fostering emotional resilience.

           How Havening Can Be Used

Havening has diverse applications and can support healing and growth in several ways:

          Healing Past Traumas

Many people carry the emotional scars of past events, whether from childhood, relationships, or major life upheavals. Havening helps process and clear the emotional pain attached to these memories, creating space for greater peace and freedom.

          Managing Current Challenges

Life often throws unexpected challenges our way. Havening provides a way to address these situations as they arise, preventing them from becoming ongoing stressors.

          Shaping a Positive Future

Beyond resolving trauma, Havening can help reinforce positive affirmations and intentions. By aligning your nervous system with your aspirations, you can cultivate resilience and confidence as you work towards your goals.

           Three Ways to Practise Havening

There are three main ways to practise Havening, ensuring accessibility and flexibility for different needs:

          Practitioner-Led Havening

In this method, a certified practitioner performs Havening directly on the client. This allows the client to fully relax while the practitioner guides the process for maximum effectiveness.

          Guided Self-Havening

In this approach, the practitioner teaches the client to perform Havening on themselves during a session. This method empowers clients to take an active role in their healing journey.

          Self-Havening at Home

After learning the technique, clients can practise Havening on their own at home. This makes it a valuable tool for ongoing self-care and stress management.

Each method is designed to suit individual preferences and situations, making Havening a versatile and accessible process.

           Transform Your Life with Havening

By addressing unresolved emotions that hinder progress, this technique can help you experience life with greater clarity, calm, and purpose.

Understanding and Managing Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia

Living with chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) and fibromyalgia is more than just managing physical symptoms; it’s a profound journey that impacts all areas of life—mental, emotional, and social. The day-to-day reality of these conditions often includes debilitating fatigue, body pain, and cognitive challenges, compounded by the added burdens of anxiety, financial stress, and the sometimes judgmental responses of others. Though blood tests may indicate “normal” health, many with CFS and fibromyalgia know all too well the depth of these invisible struggles.

Thankfully, awareness around these conditions has grown, with more people understanding that CFS and fibromyalgia are very real. Despite this, it’s not uncommon for doctors to suggest managing symptoms without offering hope for true recovery. However, more and more people have found long-lasting relief by addressing the root causes, which involve more than just symptom management.

Breaking Down the Steps to Recovery

Recovery from chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia is multi-layered. Think of it like building a piece of furniture. You can research materials, watch videos, and consult guides, but if you don’t actively take each step, the knowledge won’t translate into a usable result. Similarly, managing these conditions requires both understanding and consistent action.

Many factors can contribute to the onset of these illnesses. People with certain personality traits—such as perfectionism, a tendency to prioritize others’ needs, or a high-achieving mindset—may be more susceptible. These traits often mean that stress and unresolved emotions are left unaddressed, quietly accumulating until an external trigger, like a virus, accident, or emotional event, pushes the body’s systems into overdrive. At this point, the limbic brain, specifically the hypothalamus, can start sending chaotic signals to the rest of the body, resulting in a mix of symptoms that vary day to day.

When these symptoms aren’t addressed at their root, they tend to reinforce themselves, creating a loop of anxiety and frustration. Rest may be elusive because the mind is in overdrive, constantly wrestling with fears about health, finances, and the future. This elevated stress response keeps the nervous system locked in a sympathetic state—the “fight or flight” mode that, while useful in real danger, becomes harmful when chronically activated.

           Sympathetic Dominance and Neuroplasticity

Our nervous systems function in two modes: sympathetic (fight or flight) and parasympathetic (rest and digest). In people with CFS and fibromyalgia, the nervous system often remains stuck in the sympathetic state. This is helpful in a short-term emergency but detrimental when there is no immediate danger and we need rest to heal.

Fortunately, the brain has a remarkable capacity for change, known as neuroplasticity. While we once believed that neural pathways were fixed, we now know that they can be rewired. With the right guidance, it’s possible to retrain the brain, shifting it away from the stress response and back into a balanced state.

However, change can be challenging. While our current situation may not be ideal, our minds often perceive the familiar as safer than the unknown. Each individual has a unique tolerance for change, and while some may embrace it easily, others may experience resistance. Recognizing this resistance, and choosing to move beyond it, is key to healing.

How Kinesiology and Brain Retraining Can Help

Kinesiology is a powerful tool that taps into the subconscious mind to access stored memories and emotions contributing to stress. Often, stressors from the past remain unresolved, especially if they’re tied to traumatic or intense experiences that the body hasn’t fully processed. Through kinesiology, these underlying causes can be addressed, helping to release the energy tied up in past events and freeing up mental and physical resources for healing.

Brain retraining complements kinesiology by directly working on the thought patterns that have become habitual. Over time, chronic worry and negative thoughts can reinforce the sympathetic dominance in the nervous system. Through guided exercises, brain retraining helps break these patterns, allowing the mind to adopt new, more adaptive responses. It takes dedication, and having support along the way can be incredibly helpful, especially when we unconsciously resist the changes we most need.

           Supporting Recovery Through Lifestyle Adjustments

While healing techniques like kinesiology and brain retraining are instrumental, lifestyle changes also play a supportive role. A balanced diet, the right supplements, and avoiding foods that may cause allergic reactions are all beneficial. However, nutrition alone typically isn’t enough to fully recover from CFS or fibromyalgia. Addressing the deeper neurological and energetic patterns is essential for meaningful, lasting change.

Finding Hope in the Healing Process

Recovery from chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia is possible, though it’s rarely a linear journey. The process may involve facing personal habits, past experiences, and even aspects of identity that need to be reshaped. But with the right tools and a willingness to make incremental changes, it’s entirely possible to find relief and reclaim a sense of well-being.

Understanding Body Language: How Your Body Communicates in Energy

Our bodies communicate with us every day, but they don’t use words. Instead, they speak through energy and translate that energy into chemical signals, which can ultimately manifest as physical or emotional symptoms. We may not realize it, but our bodies are constantly trying to tell us what they need, whether it’s through persistent fatigue, physical pain, emotional stress, or even the relationships we struggle to maintain. The symptoms we experience are, in many ways, the language of our bodies, pointing to unresolved energy and deeper issues that need our attention.

           Listening to the Body’s Signals

Sometimes, our bodies are practically screaming at us. When we face conditions like fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, or unexplained pain, it's our body’s way of saying that something within us needs attention. Similarly, milder but persistent issues like digestive discomfort, sleep disturbances, or even feelings of anxiety or depression can be the body’s attempts to get our attention. Even difficulties in relationships or struggles at work can be signals that our inner energy is not in harmony with our external environment.

Instead of viewing these signs as isolated issues to be suppressed or “fixed,” we can begin to see them as a form of communication. The body isn’t trying to punish us; it’s attempting to alert us to an underlying imbalance that needs our awareness and care.

Why Do We Experience Physical and Emotional Symptoms?

When we experience symptoms—physical or emotional—they are often rooted in blocked or unresolved energy. Just like an appliance short-circuiting due to an overload, our body and mind can become overwhelmed by unresolved emotional experiences, old traumas, and stored stress. These unresolved energies can disrupt our body’s natural processes and contribute to everything from chronic pain to emotional struggles.

But it’s not just about what we’ve experienced in our own lives. Recent studies in epigenetics suggest that we may also carry emotional and energetic imprints from past generations. This means that the stress, trauma, or difficult experiences of our ancestors can be passed down to us, creating patterns that may not be immediately recognizable but still influence how we feel and interact with the world.

Decoding Your Body’s Messages Through Kinesiology

Kinesiology is a powerful tool for understanding and interpreting the body’s messages. This practice is based on the understanding that our subconscious mind holds a record of every emotionally significant event in our lives, including some memories that may be buried or long forgotten. By tapping into this information, kinesiology allows us to understand what is truly driving our physical or emotional symptoms.

During a kinesiology session, a practitioner uses muscle testing to identify and address these energy blocks. This process can reveal specific memories or beliefs that are still affecting us, often in ways we aren’t consciously aware of. The insight gained from these sessions can be transformative, helping to bring clarity to issues that once felt unexplainable or overwhelming.

           What is Bodyflow Energetics?

Bodyflow Energetics is a form of energy healing that goes beyond the surface to address the root causes of energy blockages. While kinesiology helps to uncover where our energy has become blocked, Bodyflow Energetics focuses on releasing these blockages so that energy can flow freely once again.

Blocked energy can create stagnation in the body, often resulting in symptoms like tension, fatigue, or discomfort. By releasing these blocks, Bodyflow Energetics encourages the body’s natural healing processes, helping to restore balance and harmony. This approach is not only about managing symptoms but about creating a foundation for lasting well-being.

Why We Resist Listening to Our Bodies

It’s natural to feel frustrated or even angry when we’re dealing with ongoing symptoms. Often, we just want these issues to go away so we can “get back to normal.” However, if we view these symptoms as obstacles rather than messages, we may miss the chance to resolve the root causes of our discomfort.

For example, we might try to push through chronic pain or ignore our anxiety by distracting ourselves or using temporary fixes. But this approach only suppresses the body’s signals rather than addressing them. By learning to interpret these signals, we can begin to understand what our body truly needs.

The Power of Self-Awareness in Healing

Healing starts with awareness. When we become curious about our symptoms and approach them with compassion instead of resistance, we open the door to deeper healing. This doesn’t mean we have to embrace every symptom or love every uncomfortable feeling. Instead, it means asking ourselves questions like:

What is my body trying to tell me?

Is there an emotion or memory tied to this discomfort?

What parts of my life are out of balance, and how can I bring them back into alignment?

Kinesiology and Bodyflow Energetics provide practical methods for exploring these questions. By working with the body’s energy system, these approaches help to release stored emotions, heal past traumas, and restore a sense of calm and well-being.

           Moving Forward with Body Awareness

Our relationship with our bodies is one of the most important relationships we’ll ever have. Yet, in a fast-paced world, we often ignore our body’s needs until they become impossible to ignore. But by treating our symptoms as signals instead of obstacles, we can transform our approach to well-being.

Energy healing isn’t about masking symptoms; it’s about honoring the body’s messages and creating an environment where healing can occur naturally. If you’re ready to learn more about how kinesiology and Bodyflow Energetics can support you on this journey, I’m here to help. By working together, we can begin to decode your body’s language and uncover the wisdom that lies within.

Understanding Anxiety: How It Protects Us and When It Becomes Harmful

Anxiety is often cast in a negative light, yet it plays an essential role in our survival. Imagine encountering a dangerous situation, like a car swerving toward you or coming face-to-face with a wild animal. In these moments, anxiety triggers our fight-or-flight response, prompting our bodies to produce adrenaline and cortisol. These chemicals give us the energy to react swiftly, and our bodily systems respond accordingly—our heart rate increases, digestion slows, and our senses sharpen. This heightened state is crucial for survival, enabling us to react in ways that protect us from immediate threats. Once we’re out of danger, we can return to a calm state, and the body's alertness fades.

However, anxiety becomes problematic when it lingers long after any real threat has disappeared. When we move through daily life feeling like something is wrong or that something bad is bound to happen, our body remains on high alert. This state of chronic anxiety can severely diminish our quality of life and can even be harmful in the long term, potentially leading to health problems like cardiovascular disease, weakened immunity, and mental health struggles. So, how can we transform anxiety from a constant hindrance into a tool that works in our favor?

Managing Anxiety: Techniques for Daily Life

Fortunately, many practices can help us manage anxiety and regain a sense of calm and control. Techniques like yoga, meditation, exercise, mindfulness, and prayer have been proven to reduce anxiety by grounding us in the present moment, encouraging deep breathing, and promoting relaxation. Each of these practices helps shift the body from a state of “fight-or-flight” to one of “rest-and-digest.” Here’s how they help:

Yoga and Exercise: Physical movement releases endorphins, the body’s natural mood elevators, which counteract stress hormones and help us feel more at ease.

Meditation and Mindfulness: These practices train the mind to stay present, letting us observe anxious thoughts without attaching to them or spiraling.

Prayer and Spiritual Practices: For many, spiritual practices bring comfort and create a sense of connection to something larger, reducing feelings of fear and isolation.

While these practices can help us handle everyday stressors, deeper work is often required to resolve the underlying causes of chronic anxiety.

Unpacking Anxiety Through Energy Healing and Bodyflow Energetics

Anxiety isn’t always rooted in what’s happening here and now. For many people, chronic anxiety is tied to past experiences and traumas, some of which we might not even consciously remember. These traumas create energy blocks that remain in the body and mind, sometimes for years. They’re stored in our subconscious and can be triggered by situations that echo aspects of the original trauma, even if we aren’t fully aware of it.

In recent years, researchers have uncovered that trauma isn’t just personal—it can also be passed down through generations via a process called epigenetics. This field of study suggests that our genes can “remember” past traumas experienced by our ancestors, making us more likely to feel anxiety or stress in similar situations. This means that we might be carrying burdens that aren’t even ours but are imprints left by family members who endured hardships.

How Bodyflow Energetics Addresses Deep-Seated Anxiety

This is where energy healing practices like Bodyflow Energetics come into play. Bodyflow Energetics works by helping individuals recognize and release the trapped energy that causes anxiety. This practice is rooted in the understanding that trauma creates an incomplete “energy circuit” within the body, which then remains stored and unresolved. This blocked energy can manifest as chronic anxiety, physical tension, or emotional turmoil.

Bodyflow Energetics involves identifying the source of the trauma and the specific circumstances surrounding it. Once these elements are brought to light, we use energy-focused techniques to release the stored energy. This might involve methods like kinesiology, tapping, frequencies, massage, havening and TRE, all designed to complete the energy circuit and free the trapped energy. As a result, many people experience a newfound sense of lightness, clarity, and relaxation—often describing the sensation as feeling “lighter” or “more focused.”

The Role of Self-Acceptance in Healing Anxiety

Another key aspect of managing anxiety is cultivating self-acceptance. Often, we think of anxiety as something to eliminate, yet constantly trying to “get rid of” it can make it more persistent. Instead, accepting that anxiety is part of our experience allows us to view it with curiosity and compassion rather than judgment. Asking ourselves questions like, “Where does this feeling come from?” or “What might my anxiety be trying to show me?” can shift us from a place of resistance to understanding.

When we accept anxiety as a signal rather than a flaw, we can explore its roots with an open mind, seeing it as an invitation to heal rather than a defect to suppress. Bodyflow Energetics aligns well with this approach because it encourages us to recognize and understand our stored anxieties before helping us release them. Once the energy is freed, we’re left with a sense of clarity that empowers us to respond to life’s challenges without the weight of past trauma dragging us down.

           Moving Forward with Less Anxiety

Overcoming chronic anxiety doesn’t mean we’ll never experience anxiety again. Instead, it means we’re better equipped to respond to it when it arises, recognizing it as a helpful alert system rather than an overwhelming force. Energy healing methods like Bodyflow Energetics, combined with mindfulness practices, provide a holistic approach to managing anxiety. These tools empower us to address our current feelings while also uncovering and releasing old wounds that fuel chronic anxiety.

Acceptance: The First Step Toward Real Change

“I don’t want to accept my health issues, emotional struggles, or stress. I just want to get rid of them.”

This sentiment is completely understandable. Most of us don’t want to “accept” what feels burdensome or painful. The urge to simply get rid of problems is natural. We want relief, and we want it fast. However, this resistance to acceptance can often leave us feeling even more stuck. The key difference between “getting rid of” an issue and “letting it go” lies in our approach. And it’s often acceptance—not avoidance—that becomes the essential first step.

           The Misunderstood Power of Acceptance

Acceptance isn’t about giving up or resigning ourselves to a lifetime of struggles. Instead, it’s a process of understanding and acknowledging our issues, which can ultimately help us to let them go. The paradox here is that in order to release something, we must first allow it to be present. We have to face it and understand its roots rather than pushing it away. This isn’t to say that we’re “embracing” our issues or inviting them to stay forever—it’s more like we’re choosing to see and understand them without judgment.

For instance, when it comes to health concerns, emotional problems, or chronic stress, acceptance involves cultivating a curiosity about where these issues come from and why they’re there. We might ask questions like, “Why has this happened to me? What deeper part of me might be holding onto this, even if I consciously wish it were gone?”

           Cultivating Curiosity and Understanding

True acceptance starts with curiosity. Instead of simply labeling issues as “bad” and wishing them away, we can become interested in them. Where do these feelings or symptoms originate? What part of us might want something different than what we think we want? Often, our minds and bodies develop coping mechanisms that, at one point, helped us survive physically or emotionally. The mind holds onto certain patterns because, at one time, they kept us safe. Understanding this history can help us view our issues with compassion rather than judgment.

Letting go of resistance to a problem involves allowing answers to bubble up on their own. Instead of trying to force solutions, we create space for insights to arise naturally. When we ask these questions and give ourselves room to receive answers intuitively, we start to see the problem as something that once served a purpose, even if it no longer benefits us.

           Why Avoidance Won’t Work

Sometimes, we try to ignore or bury our issues rather than confront them. Self-medicating is a common form of this avoidance—whether through alcohol, food, screen time, or other distractions. While these approaches may offer temporary relief, they tend to mask the issue rather than address its root cause. Over time, avoidance can make the problem worse, as the unresolved emotions, stresses, or physical issues continue to build up in our bodies and minds.

Seeking external solutions without engaging with our own internal world can also limit the effectiveness of any healing journey. Going to a professional and expecting them to “fix” everything for us can become another form of avoidance. Real change requires that we actively engage in our own healing process. Professionals can offer guidance and support, but lasting transformation often starts from within.

How Body Flow Energetics Can Help

One approach that supports this internal process is Body Flow Energetics. This method works by helping us “connect the dots” between our symptoms and their underlying causes, allowing us to see a fuller picture of why we may be experiencing certain challenges. Often, our subconscious mind holds information that our conscious mind is unaware of. With techniques like kinesiology, we can bring this subconscious knowledge to the surface.

Through kinesiology, the conscious and subconscious minds begin to align, allowing us to gain deeper insights into our issues. This alignment can prepare us for the real work of “letting go,” as we’re no longer operating with conflicting intentions. Once we have an understanding of what’s truly going on, we’re better equipped to release old energy patterns and beliefs that no longer serve us.

           The Process of Letting Go

Once we’ve reached a place of understanding and acceptance, the process of letting go can begin. This often involves what’s called release work, where we intentionally clear out stored energy and emotional blockages. Our bodies hold onto old emotions, tensions, and trauma, which can affect our mental and physical health. Releasing this built-up energy creates space for new, healthier patterns to emerge.

This isn’t a “one-and-done” process. Letting go is a gradual journey that might involve multiple sessions of energy work, self-reflection, and other forms of inner healing. Each time we release a bit more, we make space for greater self-acceptance, freedom, and peace.

           Embracing Self-Acceptance

The final step in this journey is self-acceptance. As we let go of old beliefs, we begin to understand ourselves more deeply and approach our lives with greater compassion. Self-acceptance means honoring our entire journey—recognizing both the struggles we’ve faced and the progress we’ve made. This acceptance allows us to let go of the need for perfection or the unrealistic goal of “getting rid” of everything we dislike about ourselves. Instead, we can approach life with openness and resilience, ready to face whatever comes our way.

Acceptance isn’t always easy. It requires patience, curiosity, and sometimes a willingness to face uncomfortable truths. However, the rewards are well worth the effort. By accepting our current reality, we empower ourselves to change it. And as we shift from a mindset of resistance to one of openness, we discover that the very things we once tried to avoid become pathways to growth, healing, and lasting inner peace.

For those interested in exploring this journey of acceptance and release, Body Flow Energetics and kinesiology can be powerful tools. I’m here to support you in this process, helping you gain insights and find freedom in letting go. Let's connect to learn more about how we can work together to help you embrace acceptance and begin your journey toward a healthier, happier life.

Distance Healing: Really? Exploring the Power of Intention Across Space

The concept of distance healing can seem hard to believe. How can someone sitting in one place help heal a person miles, or even continents, away? It’s natural to be sceptical, especially when we’re used to conventional medical treatments that require physical closeness and direct intervention. However, the principles behind distance healing draw on some of the most intriguing aspects of quantum physics, intention, and the human mind’s ability to influence healing. While science doesn’t yet fully explain how it works, the effects of distance healing are increasingly documented, experienced, and embraced by many.

Quantum Connections and Entanglement: A Glimpse Into the Unknown

To start understanding distance healing, let’s take a look at some insights from quantum physics. In recent decades, physicists have explored the concept of entanglement—a phenomenon where two particles, once connected, continue to influence each other’s state even when separated by vast distances. When a change is made to one particle, the other particle mirrors that change instantly, defying the traditional notion that things must be nearby to have an effect. Albert Einstein famously referred to this as “spooky action at a distance.”

Though quantum entanglement is observed on a subatomic scale, it opens up new ways of thinking about connection and distance. Of course, this doesn’t mean quantum mechanics has “proven” distance healing, but it does show that there are aspects of connection we don’t fully understand. Just as entangled particles remain connected over distance, could there be similar dynamics in human interactions—especially in healing, where intent and focus are strong?

The Power of Belief: The Placebo Effect as Proof of Mind-Body Connection

The placebo effect is another fascinating example of the mind-body connection, showing how belief can influence physical reality. Numerous studies have shown that patients who believe they’re receiving treatment—even when given a placebo or “dummy” pill—experience real improvements in their symptoms. This effect has been observed even when patients are informed they’re taking a placebo, suggesting that healing benefits are triggered by more than just deception. The simple act of believing in a treatment’s effectiveness seems to mobilise the body’s healing mechanisms.

While the placebo effect doesn’t directly explain distance healing, it does reinforce the idea that our beliefs, perceptions, and intentions play a key role in our health and well-being. If belief in a treatment can lead to tangible healing outcomes, it suggests that the human mind and body are responsive to intention. Distance healing works similarly: the healer and the person receiving healing share a focused intention of resolving a specific issue. When these intentions align, it creates a unique healing environment where physical proximity may not be as essential as we once thought.

How Distance Healing Works: The Role of Intent and Connection

At the core of distance healing is the power of intention. In a typical distance healing session, both the healer and the person receiving healing focus on the same goal—whether it’s easing physical pain, releasing emotional tension, or enhancing mental clarity. This shared intention creates a sense of connection, often called “energetic entanglement,” which seems to transcend physical distance. The idea is that healing energy, directed by focused intent, can reach a specific person or issue, regardless of their location.

This process may sound mysterious, but many ancient healing traditions operate on similar principles. Practices like Reiki, prayer, and visualisation have long emphasised that energy and intention can travel beyond physical boundaries. In distance healing, I use visualisation techniques and focused intent to connect with the person seeking healing, envisioning them in a state of balance, health, and well-being. The person receiving healing is also encouraged to feel receptive, open, and aligned with the healing intention.

My Personal Experience With Distance Healing

When I first started exploring distance healing, I approached it with an open mind rather than certainty. Like many, I wondered how effective a healing session could be when the person in need was far away. However, as I began facilitating these sessions, I observed remarkable outcomes. People reported feeling more relaxed, emotionally lighter, and physically better, even when they were miles away. The more I practised, the clearer it became that physical distance did not interfere with the healing process.

My experiences reflect what many practitioners and recipients of distance healing report: a genuine sense of relief, connection, and transformation, even from afar. There’s something powerful that happens when two people share a compassionate, focused intention towards healing.

Common Questions and Concerns About Distance Healing

It’s natural to have questions about distance healing, especially if it’s new to you. Here are some common concerns and explanations that might help:

Does it work the same way as in-person healing?

While distance healing doesn’t involve direct physical touch, many people report similar benefits to in-person sessions. They may feel warmth, tingling sensations, or an emotional release, all indicating an energy shift.

Can it address emotional and physical issues?

Yes. Distance healing can target both emotional and physical aspects of well-being. Since energy imbalances can manifest as both, the intention behind the session often determines which areas are addressed.

How do I know if distance healing is working?

While everyone’s experience is different, many notice feelings of relaxation, calm, and even physical relief. It’s important to approach the session with an open mind and observe any subtle changes that may continue to develop afterward.

Rediscovering Calm Through TRE: A Path to Healing Trauma and Tension

Tension and Trauma Release Exercises, or TRE, is a powerful therapeutic modality developed by Dr. David Berceli, a trauma expert who worked in war zones as a physical therapist for over a decade. During his time in conflict regions, he provided care for those affected by trauma, but the work left him with his own scars, leading to symptoms of PTSD. Seeking ways to heal, he studied neurology, psychotherapy, bioenergetics, and other therapeutic methods, eventually combining his knowledge to create TRE.

How TRE Works to Release Stored Tension and Trauma

TRE involves a set of simple exercises designed to help the body naturally release stress, tension, and trauma. Many of us accumulate trauma from difficult experiences—whether from childhood, accidents, illness, or challenging relationships. These events often leave imprints in the body and limbic brain, forming what can be called "unfinished business" in our physical and emotional systems.

The TRE exercises target this stored tension by guiding the body to release it in a controlled and gentle way. They’re initially taught by a trained facilitator, but once learned, the exercises can become part of a regular home routine to help manage daily stress and minor traumas. For more significant trauma, it’s recommended to work with a facilitator initially, as they can help regulate and support your nervous system in a safe environment.

The Natural Tremoring Response: Releasing Stress Like Animals Do

TRE utilizes the body's innate mechanism for stress release: tremoring. In the animal world, this tremoring response is observed as a way of naturally processing traumatic experiences. After an intense chase, animals are often seen shaking before returning to their usual activities, thereby regulating their nervous systems. Humans possess the same instinctive ability to release tension, yet our culture often discourages expressions of tremor, tears, or any visible signs of vulnerability. We are often told to “suck it up,” “calm down,” or “pull yourself together,” unknowingly suppressing a key way our body seeks to heal.

TRE reintroduces this natural process in a safe, controlled setting, enabling us to gradually release long-stored trauma and tension. Safety is paramount; just as animals will only tremor when they feel secure, humans need to feel safe before this release can happen effectively.

Belief: Shaping Our Reality From the Earliest Age

From the moment we’re born, we start forming beliefs—about ourselves, our abilities, and the world around us. Much of this begins with observing our parents or caregivers, absorbing what they believe, and drawing our own conclusions. These early beliefs can shape our self-perception and worldview, sometimes in ways that later in life can hold us back.

As adults, we typically respond to these inherited beliefs in one of four ways:

            We Accept and Settle

Some of us accept these beliefs without question, even if they limit our potential. We settle for less than we are capable of, perhaps out of fear or self-doubt, internalizing a “that’s just the way things are” mindset.

            We Reject but Overcompensate

Others reject these early beliefs but spend their lives trying to prove them wrong. This often results in the cycle of an "unhappy overachiever"—achieving outward success yet feeling an underlying dissatisfaction.

We Accept but Run Dual Programs

In some cases, we accept the beliefs, but a different influence introduces contradictory ideas. This can lead to inner conflict and confusion, making it hard to align our actions and decisions.

We Reject and Follow Our Free Will

The healthiest approach is to reject limiting beliefs and instead follow our free will, creating beliefs that serve us and our goals.

The Role of Kinesiology in Releasing Limiting Beliefs

Kinesiology, an alternative therapy focusing on mind-body connection, can reveal hidden beliefs held at a subconscious level. Sometimes, these beliefs conflict with our conscious goals, creating an invisible barrier that limits our progress and contributes to stress or frustration.

Through kinesiology, we can identify these underlying beliefs and bring them to our conscious awareness. By combining it with energy release work, it becomes possible to clear these beliefs from an energetic and subconscious level. This process gives us the freedom to fully choose option 4: living in alignment with our true desires and aspirations.

The Path to a Happier, Healthier Life

Releasing subconscious limiting beliefs frees us to redefine who we are and what we’re capable of achieving. With clarity, we can create beliefs that nurture our growth and happiness, guiding us toward a life that feels authentic and fulfilling.
